"Making Relief Experts Available at World Sites in Need":
The Aim of Peace Winds Japan.
"Why does Peace Winds Japan aid the people of foreign countries when there are so many people in need in Japan?" is a question often raised to PWJ. PWJ answers this query with the following response:
In most of the areas where PWJ carries out its support, there is a genuine lack of government or administrative systems or activities that function properly. Chain effects of conflict, disaster and poverty have robbed children of their young lives and driven adults into hopeless and un-livable situations. Global politics and economies fraught with historical complications leave Japan with no choice but to provide aid to these areas and to people in need. Eventually, providing support to people who are suffering worldwide will contribute to bringing about stability and peace - not only to the area in question, but also throughout the rest of the world.
“Peace Winds”, the name of our organization is derived from our deep desire to be like gentle, peaceful spring winds that blow, even in areas of armed conflicts. Yet, PWJ also must blow strong winds with determined energy at times; the areas where PWJ's support is most wanted and needed are those regions overwhelmed by conflict or stunned by the immediate after-effects of natural disasters, times when organizations, such as the United Nations and other large-scale relief organizations, find it extremely difficult to undertake relief activities as quickly and effectively as PWJ.
In putting forth its best effort to upgrade its abilities as "relief experts", PWJ delivers necessary support to those people in need while also securing its own safety.
