Since Israel's invasion into Lebanese territory, triggered by the abduction of Israeli soldiers by a political and military organization of Shia Muslims, Hezbollah, a large number of residents were displaced or became refugees. Because it was presumed that heavy damage was caused to the villages where they lived, PWJ conducted a field assessment in September in order to determine the feasibility of emergency relief, but the implementation of support operations was put on hold.
