Assisting the repatriates in Southern Sudan

In August 2006, Peace Winds Japan (PWJ) sent its international staff to Jonglei State in Sudan, to support repatriation of refugees and internally displaced persons (IDPs) who had fled from their home due to the civil war in the country. Based on our previous needs assessment carried out in May 2006, PWJ decided to engage in water/sanitation assistance by constructing wells and toilets for the community.
